Eligibility conditions for reimbursement requests
A reimbursement of expenses is offered by the STQ, provided that the following cumulative conditions are met:
- The Claimant makes the Refund Request by sending the Refund Request Form to the STQ and includes the supporting documents, AND;
- There is, at the time of the Service Disruption, no Internal Alternative Means of Transport in place nor any existing External Alternative Means of Transport, AND;
- It is not possible for the STQ, within a reasonable time or because of the location, to organize transport by bus or plane.
Eligible accommodation costs
- The STQ reimburses the lower amount between the government rate issued by the Conseil du trésor and the amount paid by the Claimant for their overnight accommodation.
- In the event that a vehicle is to be recovered, the STQ could pay a maximum of one additional night.
- A Claimant to whom the STQ reimburses accommodation costs in connection with a Service Disruption cannot claim the nights he had reserved and paid for elsewhere before the Service Disruption.
Eligible meal expenses
- The STQ will reimburse the Claimant eligible for reimbursement of accommodation costs for a meal at the government rate issued by the Conseil du trésor. The Claimant may also include in his Claim for reimbursement the meal of his spouse and that of any other person for whom he is responsible who was in his company during the Service Disruption.
- The other people who accompanied the Claimant during the Service Disruption and who are not the above-mentioned people must produce their own Reimbursement Request, except for commonly incurred expenses. In such a case, only one Claimant may be reimbursed for them.
